Part II:
The Fool
The Fool:
With pure intent and heart so true,
A Fool he seems, yet hides a Man.
He roams the earth, in search of light,
To fill his soul, to give him life.
He strives, he gives his heart anew,
But Fool remains, for weak he stands.
He’s Fool, yet Man he imprisons tight,
A superfluous soul, as Pushkin might.
This Man within, a beacon bright,
Locked in the Fool, concealed from sight.
To free his heart, to let light reign,
A key of love must break the chain.
A Maiden pure forged such a key,
To set him free, to let him see.
But blind he stayed, her gift unknown,
Her light unseen, his heart a stone.
With passing time, he did not learn,
The gift bestowed, the Maiden's yearn.
Specters fell and darkness fled,
His light shone bright, or so he said.
Yet on his knees with heart now torn,
He weeps for Maiden, lost, forlorn.
Her light, her love, he seeks in vain,
For she is gone, he knows the pain.
Introduction:
Like many of us who seek forgiveness from the ones we love (not loved - because we still do) - a behavior trait caused the stupidity which sparked the situation.
It takes a pivotal point in life to 'release' us through the blessings of wisdom and experience.
In this piece, I reflect on how I was unable to "step up" and be the man that Alexandra needed. Consumed by my darkness and perceived inability to cope, I didn't see that my key to coping and my purpose to step up was right in front of me all the time.
Final Thoughts:
We think we are man enough to face situations, yet we fool ourselves into believing it and repress the true man inside of us. But worse off, we don't see the exceptional individual who is there as we are consumed by our own darkness.
